A sample can leave a lot unsaid.

Put the product details in the contract

You may agree on what a sample should look like but still disagree on what comes next. Who owns the design? Who pays to repeat a test? We help you review those points in supplier and project contracts. Bothell names life sciences and advanced manufacturing among its local industries. Our role is the business agreement: the rights each side gets and the work each side promises to do.

Legal help for the work behind a product

A supplier contract sets terms for quality and delivery. A joint project may also need rules for shared designs or data. Foundry helps with business formation and the contracts that govern how your company works with others.

Build Your Company

While business support and intellectual property protection often take companies to two separate firms, Foundry offers both service areas in-house. We see your initial business foundation and your asset protection as part of your company’s larger story, and our model integrates the two accordingly. Our dual capacity and holistic approach ensure your big-picture legal plan is cohesive, sustainable, and aligned with your vision for your business.

Match the workspace to the project

Bothell’s tenant improvement checklist is a place to start. A change in how you use a space can lead to building upgrades. The city lists issues such as exits and access. Ask what applies before you set a budget for a new workshop. The lease can then state who pays for the work.

A lab needs its own site review. Bothell directs lab and hazardous-material projects to the Fire Marshal about required plans. Tell city staff what you plan to do and which materials you’ll use. Keep their comments with the lease draft. That helps you talk through costs and delays. Foundry can review the lease terms. City staff and your technical advisers assess the site needs.

Bothell has no city business and occupation tax, or B&O tax. State tax may still apply. You also need to check the city license rules. Bothell uses the state’s system for that step. Keep these costs and filings in your plan.

“Madhu is someone I consider to be a mentor and community leader. She is an outstanding model of an entrepreneur-attorney who finds unique ways to get to know her clients on a very personal level. I’ve witnessed first hand, as Foundry’s Of Counsel Patent Attorney, to see how well she serves her clients. She and her team are world class.”
