Foundry Law Group has the pleasure of sponsoring the GoVertical ML/AI Startup Creation Weekend, hosted by Madrona Venture Labs and TiE Seattle.

About the Event

 

GoVertical brings together a diverse set of participants with business, software development, and data science backgrounds to pitch ideas, form teams, and compete for final round consideration of the Madrona Venture Labs Accelerator. Accepted Accelerator companies will receive further mentoring, office space at Madrona Venture Labs, and $100k in seed funding for their startup.

All participants will receive an invitation to a free SageMaker workshop on February 14 from 1p – 5p.

Kickoff Event – February 13

 

The kickoff event brings together individuals from a diverse set of backgrounds who will be participating in the event. Participants will hear from a panel of experts. Anyone is able to pitch an idea to the crowd. After pitches, teams form in anticipation of the Startup Creation Weekend.

This year the panel features experts in Fintech, Retail, Health and Wellness, Insurance, Real Estate, and Construction who will present unique challenges and possible machine learning applications in each vertical.

Any attendee will then have an opportunity to pitch an idea to the room in one minute. The idea must be related to one of the presented verticals and incorporate machine learning. After pitches, participants form teams around an idea, and the top teams move on to the startup creation weekend.  Each team will include, at a minimum, one business person, one software developer, and one data scientist.

 

Startup Creation Weekend – February 22-24

 

The teams will have one weekend to work on ideas and prepare for a final presentation. GoVertical will have various datasets available for training and mentors available to help. At the close of the Startup Creation Weekend, distinguished judges will hear pitches from selected teams and select a winning team to compete for final round consideration for the Madrona Venture Labs Accelerator
